More and More people are purchasing Bean Bag chairs these days. They used to be viewed as furniture for children but with the growing popularity of video gaming for adults so has the need increased for comfortable, moldable furniture that you can sit in for hours while receiving full body Support. Another reason for their popularity is the fact that more and more people are living in smaller spaces. The average American home has shrunk from 2400 sq. ft to 2000 sq. ft. in the last decade alone. Not only that but the fact that now, eighty percent of Americans live in urban areas which are typically characterized by smaller living spaces, apartments complexes etc. Therefore there is a great increase in demand for furniture that is both moldable and modular and is a great solution for smaller living spaces. If I had my way I’d switch all the chairs in the office but I don’t think my bosses would appreciate it. I think it would definitely contribute to a more laid-back, and thus more efficient workspace. I saw a youtube video where someone did that, it was hilarious.

Many people are changing their perceptions about bean bags because there are a lot of new companies out on the market, that are designing new styles of bean bags that are totally different from what has been offered until now. If you picture one in your head you are probably thinking of a circular, vinyl, sweaty blob that ends up bursting and leaving your room looking after a Styrofoam blizzard but this is not the case today. Most Bean Bag chairs for kids these days contain an inner liner that helps prevent the white mess and ensure that it has a longer life then what once was. Every couple of years you might have to add some styrofoam due to compression but altogether it’s a piece of furniture that can stay with you for a long time.

Thanks to a handful of innovative companies the bean bag chair is going through a modern renaissance, yes I just used that word. Not only design-wise but they are also being made from eco-friendly materials like hemp and recycled Styrofoam as opposed to vinyl and virgin Styrofoam beads. You might want to check out some of these modern pieces of furniture online to see what I am talking about. Viva la bean bag revolution.
